Social Responsibility
Lietuvos Energija believes that companies are not only responsible for their profitable functioning, payment of taxes, observing the laws and ensuring the safety of work-sites. Our vision of business perspectives is broad and far-sighted. The values of a socially responsible business have a positive impact on company identity and internal culture. Thus Lietuvos Energija AB has been implementing a strategy of corporate social responsibility. Here are the main aspects:
Education – education of employees and young technicians is promoted by organizing on-going training and qualification courses;
Employee and community welfare – is linked with the development of the professional skills of employees and the formation of an internal organizational culture, preparation of corporate events and other cultural initiatives, supporting the local community and socially vulnerable groups;
Development of environmental responsibility – ecological initiatives, related to the rational use of energy resources, sorting and recycling of waste, and involvement in environmental management, initiatives are welcomed.
Socially responsible activity
Respect, Professionalism, Cooperation and Proactivity – are the main values of our Company and various social activities are based on these. Furthermore, a great deal of attention is paid to the communities around us, and their needs.
The company’s social responsibility rests on mutual dialogue with the nearby communities:
Employees – working personnel of the three power plants (LPP, KHPP and KSPS) are the most significant and valuable assets of the Company.
Geographic communities – the Company seeks to ensure the provision of accurate and reliable information to Elektrenai residents. These communities are the nearest to the Company, and so we try to protect the environment of the residential community, and also to contribute to the leisure activities of these communities as well as to their overall self-improvement.
Academic communities – potential employees of the Company – engineering and technical study graduates. We cooperate with state higher education institutions of technical specialization and a local professional training centre.
