Heat Production

The Lithuanian Power Plant produces not only electricity, but heat as well, which is used to meet the demand of the town of Elektrėnai and greenhouse businesses in the region. Since October 2010 heat energy has also been supplied to the town of Vievis under the agreement with ENG UAB, which built a new thermal channel-free line between the towns of Vievis and Elektrėnai. In order to further diversify its operations, Lietuvos energija, AB undertakes an investment Project to start using biomass for heat energy production in a few years. The Company’s operations of heat production and sale are regulated by the National Control Commission for Prices and Energy.
